Wrapping Up Our Time in Las Cruces
Our one month stay here is over tomorrow. The past couple of weeks we’ve just been laying low and spending as much time as possible with family. We have also met some fellow full-timers and gotten to spend a few evenings sitting around the park listening and telling travel stories. This park is a little different in that there aren’t a lot of long term residents. Most people only stay here one or two nights and move on to the next location. Every morning there’s an exodus of RVs as everyone leaves and starting around two in the afternoon it starts filling back up. This means that we get to meet a lot of new people.
We took care of a few projects, and Danelle even got our taxes done and submitted. I took her out for dinner since that wasn’t an easy job this year. Glad she’s the smart one who can figure it all out.
The weather has been nice with daily temps in the high 60s to low 70s. The mornings can be cool enough to have to scrape frost, but it quickly warms up.The cats take advantage of the morning sun and the birds hopping around outside.
We were able to get a few bike rides in and enjoy the desert.
We’ve recruited a new driver. She can’ quite reach the pedals but seem’s very enthusiastic. Our winter break is coming to an end and it’s almost time to start the next race season. It’s been a nice break, but we are both ready to go see new stuff.
Stay tuned as we start heading east.
